Dead Links Reborn

Maybe you already noticed (but if you took the habit of downloading my track from mediafire you probably didn’t), one of my hosting websites has been shut down after a C&D (Cease & Desist). So I decided to update all the links and replace them by the mediafire ones, except for two of them, born at a wrong era, or two other ones which were just too bad :P. I took the precautions so it can’t happen again.

Vous aviez peut-être remarqué mais suite à la fermeture inattendue d’un de mes sites free suite à une pression de la SCPP, la plupart des vieux liens ici étaient morts, même si ça n’empêchait pas mes bootlegs d’être tous encore disponibles à quelques exceptions près. J’ai donc mis à jour tous les liens que je pouvais (à part 2 pas nés à la bonne époque et 2 autres juste mauvais). Mais maintenant, j’ai pris les précautions (redirection de certains comptes e-mail) pour que ça ne m’arrive plus.

Entre autres news, j’ai une date prévue le 20 juin au Kata Bar à Paris (9°) où je pourrai m’adonner sans risque à balancer du NIN à tout va, et je risque de revenir sur Paris, première moitié de juillet, pour une autre date, mais pour ça, allez faire une tour sur mes pages MySpace ou FaceBook, que je mets plus souvent à jour que le présent site, en ce qui concerne les dates ou je jouerai.

Paranoid / Go with the Flow / Killing an Arab

A while ago, I bought the limited edition of Three Imaginary Boys by The Cure which is supposed to make Boys Don’t Cry useless. However, they censored Killing an Arab (the morons) and I had to get the track from a friend’s Boys Don’t Cry CD. I made a boot of it as it was laying on my hard drive. Without counting the recent finds of Go with the Flow and Paranoid multitracks, I’ve been able to play around with all these tracks.

Il y a quelques temps, je me suis payé l’édition limitée de Three Imaginary Boys par The Cure qui est supposée rendre l’achat de Boys Don’t Cry obsolète. Malheureusement, à cause de connards bien-pensants qui peuplent les maisons de disques, le morceau Killing an Arab a été censuré, j’ai donc dû le récupérer chez un ami qui avait le CD de Boys Don’t Cry. Et j’en ai fait un bootleg comme le morceau trainait sur le disque dur de mon ordinateur. Sans compter Go with the Flow et Paranoid de Black Sabbath disponibles en multitracks, j’avais tout pour m’amuser, voilà les 3 morceaux qui en résultent.

I think I ran out of Flux bootlegs ideas to test now. Anyway, here are small things I’ve done lately. Don’t forget to listen to my « Best of 2007 » radio show this friday night on Maxxhits Bootlegs, for a few surprises and more original tracks than usual (it’s not a best of bootlegs) plus me talking short bits (unfortunately it’s in french).

Heresy

You can guess I’m pretty much working on NIN material right now. As the official « Remix NIN » website opened recently featuring new rare tracks and especially instrumental versions of The Downward Spiral among others, I allowed myself to use some of these and put Daft Punk over the ultraviolent track Heresy (this one is gonna rock the batcaves’ dancefloors ^^). I also put my NIN triple self mashup from With Boots on the website and it’s been received really fantastically (on top of that, Trent Reznor himself rated my mashup with a high and flattering score), which pushed me to do another NIN self mashup, right here as an exclusive track from the upcoming Bootleg is Resistance. In this bunch of boots, I also mixed Bloc Party’s Flux with Roni Size and AYO Technology over some Placebo.

Au vu de la proportion de NIN dans ces 4 mashups, on peut deviner que je bosse beaucoup sur NIN en ce moment (pour Bootleg is Resistance bien évidemment). Comme le site « Remix NIN » a ouvert récemment avec de nouvelles raretés et particulièrement les instrumentaux de The Downward Spiral parmi d’autres, je me suis permis de coller un acapella de Daft Punk sur l’ultraviolente Heresy (un truc à retrouver les dancefloors des batcaves ^^). J’ai aussi uploadé sur Remix NIN mon triple mashup issu de With Boots et il a été reçu excellemment par la communauté des fans et remixeurs inscrits là-bas (la cerise sur le gâteau étant que Trent Reznor lui-même a noté mon mashup de façon très flatteuse), ce qui m’a poussé à faire un nouvel « auto-mashup » de NIN, que je vous présente ici-même en tant qu’une exclusivité de Bootleg is Resistance. Dans cette série, j’ai aussi mélangé Flux de Bloc Party avec Roni Size ainsi qu’AYO Technology avec un morceau de Placebo.

Don’t worry, I’m not selling my boots, just the usual crappy pun of a non-native english speaker. Here are 5 new boots. Well, 2 of them are new really, because if you listen to my webradio mixes I make for Maxxhits Bootlegs you can usually hear new tracks of mine before they get here, also unheard tracks from the upcoming mashup album, Bootleg is Resistance, so if you’re eager to listen to tracks from it, you can listen to my mixes ;). But let’s go forward to this whole NINless (not for long) bunch of eclectic stuff, no need to talk further, we’re not on Bob Loblaw’s Law Blog.

I Love You but I’ve Chosen Bootlegs

Here’s another small series of bootlegs I made during last month and just recently for some of them. The associations just talk by themselves I think. On the other hand, I keep on doing boots for various projects including « Bootleg is Resistance » which is planned to be released as a triple mashup album, in early 2008 I hope. One other thing, don’t miss my first long mix (one hour) which will be aired on Maxxhits Bootlegs web radio this Monday 29/10 at 9PM (French time GMT+1, re-run at 10AM the next day), in which you’ll be able to hear a bunch of exclusive tracks.

Encore une petite série de bootlegs faits durant le mois écoulé et tout récemment pour deux d’entre eux, les associations parlent d’elles-même je trouve. D’un autre côté, j’avance toujours pas à pas dans divers projets incluant notamment « Bootleg is Resistance » qui est prévu pour début 2008 (j’espère) et consistera en un triple album. Sinon, ne loupez pas mon premier mix d’une heure qui passe à la radio sur Maxxhits Bootlegs, ce lundi 29/10 à 21h (rediffusion à 10h le lendemain), il contiendra plusieurs bootlegs exclusifs et une surprise (qui n’en est pas une pour ceux qui m’ont déjà entendu mixer).

Last Night a Bootleg Saved my Life

As usual these days, I made like twice the quantity of bootlegs you can see here (for various reasons and projects). I’m quite proud of these ones, especially Indeep vs. Blur (for which I seem to be the first having the idea) and the Duran Duran one (which is quite obvious too including T. Rex). Also notice that from now on, I’m gonna post every of my bootlegs on Mediafire for those who think that downloading process was taking too long.

Comme d’habitude en ce moment, j’ai dû produire deux fois plus de bootlegs que ce que vous pouvez voir ici (pour diverses raisons et projets). Je suis plutôt content de ceux-là, pariculièrement du Blur vs. Indeep (qui, à ma connaissance, n’a jamais été fait) et celui avec Duran Duran (avec T. Rex, plutôt évident mais il fallait le faire). A partir de maintenant, je posterai aussi sur Mediafire pour ceux qui trouvent que le téléchargement chez Free est trop lent.

Mashup to Rule the World

Encore un titre prétentieux pour une série de bootleg ressemblant au train de votre enfance qui pouvait en cacher un autre (pour faire clair, derrière cette relative prolifération, il y a encore pas mal d’inédits pour différents projets plus ou moins secrets). Sinon, on reste dans une veine bien rock ‘n’ roll avec Placebo et Queens of the Stone Age; il y a aussi un bootleg avec Grandpamini au chant (il chante dans Goto X) qui sera joué live à la prochaine soirée Bootie pour le Mashup Show; et un dernier, une blague potache entre les Choristes et Linkin Park: comme je n’aime pas vraiment les deux morceaux que j’ai mélangés là, il n’était pas dans mon précédent post. :p

Back again with another pretentious post title, right there is a small bunch of bootlegs which hides another bunch of unreleased bootlegs made for various projects (of my own or not). Still into a rock ‘n’ roll mood with Placebo and Queens of the Stone Age, there’s also a bootleg with Grandpamini’s vocals (singer of Goto X), which will be performed live during next Bootie Paris for the Mashup Show. And a final one, kind of a joke between the well known song from the french movie « The Chorus » and Linkin Park ; I don’t like either of the songs involved, which is why it didn’t make the previous post. :p
